My Winter Soup Roundup!
Brr….been a bit chilly hasn’t it?! Even here in sunny Queensland…there is nothing like a homemade, healthy soup on a cold winter’s night. Here is a collection for you – make a few new ones this year – don’t get stuck in a soup rut like I do! Combine your soup with some beautiful bread or rolls with garlic butter and you have dinner sorted. Soups are a great way to get lots of vegetables into your children too. You can blend them smooth or even add some pasta shapes to get their interest! Soups can be frozen for a quick and easy meal or taken to work the next day for lunch. I’ve got a great round-up for you here with everything from Chicken based soups, lamb, ham, vegetarian and even a fish soup!
Our go-to at the moment is my Thai Inspired Chicken Soup. It’s full of immune boosting goodness – garlic, ginger, turmeric and lemon. You can add chilli if you like things hot, or the kids will love it without. My three year old gobbles this up with some pasta shapes added to it (minus the chilli!)
Another chicken soup recipe that looks and sounds amazing is The Wholesome Mum’s Speedy Chicken Noodle Soup that is quick and easy to throw together.

This will be delicious. Celeriac and Cauliflower soup from My Food Religion (Recipe uses chicken bone broth but could easily be made vegetarian)

Wendy from Vegie Smugglers has a Slow Cooker Pea and Ham soup. I cannot tell you how much I LOVE my slow cooker – a little bit of prep in the morning before work is so worth the feeling of coming home and knowing dinner is all done!

Alexx Stuart has a quick and easy ‘6 minute fish soup’ recipe. This is an easy, adaptable recipe you can use with other protein and other stocks.
